Who could forget when the trailer for the first Toy Story was first released in 1995, where Woody was giving an order to the Sergeant. “Sergeant, establish a recon post downstairs. Code Red.” Next thing we knew, the soldiers were jumping out of their Bucket O Soldiers tub to carry out their mission downstairs to discover “the big one”. We were introduced to the soldiers along with Woody before we even got a glimpse of Andy or any of this other toys and I’m sure we were all immediately hooked! It is no surprise then that the Bucket O Soldiers were included when Thinkway Toys created the Toy Story Collection.
The soldiers themselves are absolutely stunning, highly detailed, and made to a high quality. I believe the types of soldiers and the numbers of each will vary depending on which bucket you bought, as there have been a few waves of Toy Story Collection/Signature Collection toys. I bought mine very recently (2015) and my bucket contained 12 different soldiers:
Soldier #1: Standing soldier with a rifle over his head (7 Soldiers)
Soldier #2: Standing soldier holding a metal detector/landmine detector (7 Soldiers)
Soldier #3: Kneeling soldier with a rifle (7 Soldiers)
Soldier #4: Soldier with a rifle in a prone position (7 Soldiers)
Soldier #5: Kneeling Soldier with a bazooka (7 soldiers)
Soldier #6: Standing solider with a handgun and binoculars (7 soldiers)
Soldier #7: Saluting solider with binoculars (7 soldiers)
Soldier #8: Standing soldier holding a rifle at waist level (7 soldiers)
Soldier #9: Stepping soldier holding a rifle (7 soldiers)
Soldier #10: Kneeling soldier with a rocket launcher (7 soldiers)
Parachute Solider #1: Standing solider with a rifle (1 soldier)
Parachute Soldier #2: Soldier with knees bent holding a rifle (1 soldier)
The Bucket O Soldiers is very well made and comes at a very reasonable cost. It is absolutely necessary for any Toy Story collection. A fun idea for all the Toy Story fans out there would be to hang the parachute soldiers from the ceiling and place a few in any plants in your home to place them on a Code Red mission in your very own home!
