Harry Potter Time Turner Necklace

“How did she come in? Did you see her come in?”

What would you do with your extra time if you had extra hours in your day? I know I would do exactly what Hermione did because, no matter how many degrees I get, I always want to learn more. I would take extra classes, read more books, and then throw in a few hours to catch up on some TV series.

As I was looking for Christmas gifts this year, I stumbled upon a Time Turner necklace on eBay for only £2.95! I may not be the most die-hard Harry Potter fan, but I adore Harry Potter and have been collecting Harry Potter memorabilia and collectibles over the past few years (because, you know, it’s not like I have enough collections on the go!). This Time Turner was an absolute bargain, and although it may not be of the utmost accuracy, it was well worth the money.

This Time Turner that I purchased is from the eBay user ‘thestockroom101’, and is available as a silver or gold colour necklace, and you have your choice of 7 different sand colours in the hourglass. It seems there are quite a few sellers out there that offer this necklace at a low cost, so it should not be too hard to find. I kept it true to the movie and opted for the gold colour necklace with yellow sand. The necklace does rotate in different directions. The rings are not as thin as they are in the movie, however the rings have ‘I mark the hours every one, nor have I yet outrun the Sun’ and ‘My use and value unto you are gauged by what you have to do’ engraved into them, which I thought is a nice touch. The necklace is of course not real gold, but that is to be expected considering the low cost. The quality may not be the best for the purposes of wearing it as a necklace as the black lettering will likely fade, however I think the necklace works great for display purposes.

I believe that if you enjoyed the Harry Potter books/movies, this is a nice trinket to have for display purposes. If you’re a die-hard Harry Potter fan who has a large collection, it may be better to skip this one and opt for a more detailed and accurate version, which can be found on the Warner Bros. Studio Tour website. There are even 24k gold plated versions that come in display cases, which can be found on various collectors’ sites, but these will come at a high cost.
