Commemorative Lion King Lithograph

Lion King Commemorative Lithograph

The Lion King is a classic Disney film and it is my absolute favourite Disney movie. It is a movie that takes every 90s kid back down memory lane and there isn’t a person in this world who could resist singing along to the intro of ‘Circle of Life’ despite the fact that none of us actually know the real words 😆

Finding Lion King toys nowadays is a little harder than toys of other classic Disney movies because the generation of today enjoys The Lion Guard, so all the toys you find now are of characters from the new television series. Luckily while I was looking around a car boot sale one day I came across this really cute and retro looking Disney Store exclusive commemorative lithograph. For the measly cost of £2.50, I thought it was the perfect thing for my toy room because it was a piece of artwork from a classic piece of my childhood.

lion king lithographThis particular lithograph is a Disney Store exclusive and has the lovely golden stamp in the bottom right corner to make it official. While this commemorative lithograph may not be the most detailed piece of artwork compared to some of the artwork you can find nowadays, it is a lovely print of a classic scene from a classic Disney movie. As much as I love the amazingly detailed 3-D animated films we have now, sometimes I can’t help but miss the classic cartoons that were actually drawn and painted. This lithograph would be great for a nursery or a child’s room, however I think it would be a great piece of decor for any room in the house of a nostalgic Disney lover.

Although many of these commemorative lithographs are from when the movie was released back in 1994, the value of these lithographs has not gone up very much at all. If you don’t find any at your local thrift store or cat boot, there are plenty floating around eBay and Amazon for very reasonable prices. While this was a Disney Store exclusive, there are other Disney Store Exclusive Lion King lithographs from different scenes from the movie, the most popular being the scene where Simba is talking to Rafiki about how the past can hurt.So if your wall is looking a little bare and you’re looking for a piece of cute nostalgia, why not bring a little piece of childhood back into your home?  🙂
