By Beauty and the Beast is one of my all-time favourite Disney movies, filled with magic and enchantment. I love it so much that I even included enchanted rose bell jars as centrepieces at my wedding (check out my ‘make your own enchanted rose bell jar’ post at http://bit.ly/1OHIrdR). Although Beauty and the Beast was released back in 1991, I know that this classic will be loved and adored for a long time by future generations.
I purchased this Belle Disney Princess Figurine Set following my trip to Disney World back in 2001, and have kept it with me all these years, even when I moved half-way across the world. The figures are really well made and look very accurate to the movie characters. This figurine set consists of 7 figures: Belle in her golden ball gown, Beast, Belle in her day-to-day blue dress, Lumiere & Cogsworth as one figure, Mrs. Potts & Chip as one figure, Gaston, and Philippe.
I have to say, of all the figures included in this set, Beast is the best made figure and looks exactly as he does in the movie. Funnily enough, even though this is a Belle Disney Princess set, Belle is the least accurate figure in the set. The clothing and hair are well done, but her face could have been better, particularly the Belle in her golden ball gown. Even though Belle’s face is not perfect, I would say it is still well made considering the size of the figure and you can still tell it’s Belle when you look at her face.
The Disney Store will almost always have figurine sets for all the latest movies and a figurine set of the classic Disney Princesses. What’s great about this set, and the Disney Store figurines sets in general, is that the figures are great for children to play with but are also packaged very nicely for collectors such as myself. I think the packaging is great because the figures are firmly placed in the plastic, you can see all the figures clearly without having to open the package, and it even includes a picture of a castle in the background to give it that extra Disney magical touch.
If you’re a Beauty and the Beast fan and love collecting Disney toys, this set would definitely make a great addition to your collection. The figures would also be great for children as they are very well made. This particular set is quite old, but can still be found on amazon if you keep your eyes peeled. If you are a die-hard fan, it may be worth hunting this set down as one problem I do find with the Disney Store figurine sets, is that sometimes it appears that Disney gets a bit lazy do not make the most accurate figurines (I have seen a couple of Frozen ones that were not the greatest). If you find a newer set that you like, fantastic, but if not, this set is still available online so that you can add it to your collection 🙂
