By It doesn’t matter whether you’ve seen Despicable Me or the Minions movie, the minions can bring a smile to anyone’s face. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Minions movie, but I still love and adore the minions and I think they’re absolutely hilarious. I wasn’t initally going to collect this happy meal set, but when I found out that all the minions talk and laugh, my hunt immediately began.
This is a very large Happy Meal set as there are 14 different minions to collect. This is the set released in the UK. Happy Meal sets will always vary from country to country. This set has one Kevin, two Bobs, and one Stuart wearing their classic denim overalls, and the remaining minions are all wearing the different outfits they’ve worn throughout their history with different villains. All the minions are plastic and are very light. While it may be a bit of a pain to start collecting them now if you haven’t already, it is definitely worth the hunt because they are loads of fun for children and adults alike.
Kevin
This is the only Kevin toy in the set. Kevin is standing at approximately 4″ tall and has his arms crossed in front of this chest. He is wearing is classic denim overalls and has a smirk across his face. He has a switch on his back and when your turn him on there are three different variations of sounds he will make. He will giggle, he will do a single “ha ha”, and he will say “hey buddy!”.
Bob (Hands in the air like he just don’t care)
This is the Bob toy with both hands in the air like he just don’t care. Bob is about 2.5″ tall and is also wearing his classic denim overalls. He has two different coloured eyes, one is green and the other is brown, and he has a big smile across his face. Bob also has a switch on his back and has three different sayings when you turn him on. He will sing “lalala”, he will say “helloooo”, and he will go “Hm?”
Stuart
This is the rocking out Stuart toy playing his guitar. Stuart is just over 3″ tall and he a little different to the other minion toys. He has a switch on the back of his head, but to make him speak you have to push down on his arm holding his guitar and he will start singing. He will stop singing after a short while, but you just have to push down on his arm again to get him going again.
Bob #2 (Volunteer)
This set has a second Bob toy, which looks very similar to the other Bob toy, but this Bob has one arm on his hips and one arm up in the air. Bob’s arm does rotate all the way around so you can keep his arm up or down, but I think his arm needs to be up because he desperately wants to go on the journey with Kevin. This Bob talks as well, but this one has a button on belly. He only has one saying which aren’t real words but he sounds very passionate about whatever it is he is saying! 😛
Jurassic Minion
This is the Jurassic minion dressed in his grass skirt with his arms in the hair like he just don’t care. He has an “ooooo” expression on his face and I imagine this is because he probably just came out of the water and is heading towards the island. He has a switch on his back and has three variations of sounds. He will laugh, he will say “yum yum” and he monkey sounds and say something along the lines of “booga” and laugh.
Caveman Minion
This is the caveman minion dressed in his orange fur with a bone in his hair. This minion does not look very impressed at all, perhaps he just needs to get used to dealing with humans. This minion has a switch on his back and has three variations of sound. It’s hard to make out what the sayings are, if they are real words at all, but one sounds like “aaaabagai”, the other is just groaning, and the final doesn’t sound like words at all, just mumbling.
Vampire Minion
This is the vampire minion dressed in his purple Dracula outfit. This minion has a big smile across his face and he even has fangs. He has a switch on his back like the others and has three variations of sounds. He will do a quick laugh, a longer laugh, and he will say “Tadaaaaa”.
Egyptian Minion
This is the Egyptian minion in his white outfit and blue belt. He has a smile across his face and Im not sure why because the minions were not the greatest and pyramid plans. This minion also has a switch on his back and has three variations of sounds. This minion says “Okayyyy!” “Mondayyyyy!” and makes a grunt sound.
Pirate Minion
This is the pirate minion dressed in his pirate outfit. His outfit is black, he has a skull and crossbones on his head scarf, he has a black belt on, and he is holding a sword in his hand over his head (which I do not reccomend). This minion has a big smile across his face and a switch on his back. He has two variations of sounds. He will say some gibberish that sounds like he is ready for battle and then he sounds like he is falling off the ship with an “ahhhh”.
Solider Minion
This is the soldier minion all geared up in his Napoleonic uniform. He seems to be quite happy to go to war as he has a big smirk on his face. He has a switch on his back and has 3 variations of sounds. He laughs, he says “Pull!” and “Ya, Victoryyyyy!”.
Martial Arts Minion
This is the fighting martial arts minion. He is wearing a purple robe and his wooden sandals. He has his arms in the air ready to fight and judging by his expression, he is getting ready to do that “ooooo, hiya!” sound, hehe. He has a switch on his back and has two variations of sounds. He does a “woooo hoooo hoooo” sound and he also screams “Yeaaaaaaaah!”
London Guard Minion
This is the guard minion guarding England with his banana. He’s standing very tall with his big furry hat and has a very serious expression on his face. He has his switch on his back and has 3 variations of sounds. While he may look serious, he will laugh, and then do a different laugh, and then scream “Englaaaaand”.
Groovy Minion
This is the hippy, groovy minion dressed in his psychedelic purple outfit. Rather than showing a peace sign, his hands are both clenched and he has one arm up towards his eye. He has a switch on his back and has two variations of sounds. He just giggles and giggles away and he says “Hellooo papagana”.
Ice Cave Minion
Last, but not least, is the ice cave minion with no evil master. He is wearing his brown parka and has a little smirk on his face. This minion must be from the early days of the ice cave before they all got depressed. This minion also has a switch on his back and has 3 variations of sounds. He says “Banana!”, he giggles, and he scrams “Yeah!”.
While these toys do have a bit of a shelf life on them as the electronic voices will eventually fade and stop working, these toys are all very adorable and very fun. However, if you love your minions these toys will look absolutely great with any toy collection and the batteries could always be replaced. They’re silly and fun, and if you can get your hands on them, I highly reccomend grabbing a few 🙂 Bananaaaa!
