Home Happy Meal Toy Collection

10547344_466566826838444_939573447_nHome is a computer animated film by Dreamworks about aliens called ‘Boov’ taking over planet earth in their mission to escape their enemy, the ‘Gorg’, and find a new home.

One Boov named ‘Oh’ accidentally invites every alien race in the galaxy to his housewarming party including the Gorg. Oh becomes a fugitive on the run and bumps into a young girl named Tip and her cat Pig who are on their own mission to find Tip’s mom. Oh and Tip join forces and begin their journey to Paris, the Boov Command Centre.

When I learned that the voice of Oh would be Jim Parsons, I immediately knew I had to see this movie. I went to see this in 4DX in Milton Keynes (moving chairs, smells, and even bubbles!) and I was not disappointed in the slightest. Home was an incredibly cute and funny movie. When McDonald’s released a set of Home Happy Meal toys, I had to collect them all.

There are 9 different Oh toys, in different colours representing different moods and they are all adorable. All of these toys would look great on display as part of any toy collection.

Nervous Oh

Nervous OhThis is a green Oh who is obviously scared and nervous looking at a lenticular image of Captain Smek and Kyle in his hand, depending on which angle you’re looking at it. This Oh has a button on his back and when you push it his head goes up and down, making his mouth bigger and smaller, while his arm moves the picture closer and further away. As long as this toy is handled with care and you don’t break his arm off, he could sit on display forever.

Proud and Heroic Oh

Proud and Heroic Oh Mcdonalds toy imageThis is an orange Oh who is proudly holding up the Shusher Wand with a smirk on his face. This Oh toy has a lever on the back of his head and when you push down on it, he lays down the Susher Wand and the purple swirl on his belly lights up bright orange. There is a switch on the back of the toy to turn off the light so that you don’t wear out the battery every time you push down on the lever. The light-up feature is great, the only downside is that the batteries for these lights do wear out quite quickly and cannot be replaced. Regardless of the light, he would look wonderful on display and still has his moving arm feature that will last for a long time.

Shaking Oh

Shaking Oh Mcondalds Toy imageThis is a red, angry Oh with his ears all squiggly and stretching out. This Oh is a wind-up toy with a winder on his back. Wind him up and he will start to vibrate. If you set him down on a flat surface while he is vibrating, it will look like he’s throwing a temper tantrum and is absolutely adorable. This toy has no batteries so he will have a long play and display life.

Bashful Oh

Bashful oh mcdonalds toy imageThis is a dark pink, wide-eyed Oh who has his arms up to his chest like an adorable puppy dog on his hind legs. He has a lever on his back and when you push it up and down, Oh’s head moves up and down along with it. There is switch on the back of his legs and when you turn it on, Oh’s head will light up pink as if he is blushing. This is a very cute Oh, but as with all battery operated McDonalds toys, the battery will die rather quickly. Regardless of the light, Oh’s head will continue to move up and down and can be played with for a very long time.

Surprised Oh

This is a yellow Oh with his ears straight up in the air, with one arm up and one arm down. The purple swirl on his belly is a button and when you push down on it, his arms and ears will move and his eye will move to look upwards. This Oh is not battery operated so you can play and display to your heart’s content.

Oh’s Spinning Cat

Balancing Oh Mcdonalds ToyThis is a light blue Oh who is balancing the cat, ‘Pig’ on his head. The purple swirl on his belly is a button and when you push down on it, the cat spins. Considering that this is a Happy Meal toy, the spinning is quite quick and has been working well for quite some time. This toy is not battery operated. It should have a long life, but if you’re too rough the cat my break off as he is not placed firmly on Oh’s head. As long as you’re not hammering him against the table, he should be absolutely fine and can be displayed in your collection easily.

Heartfelt Oh

Heartfelt Oh Mcdonalds Toy This is a dark pink Oh with puppy-dog eyes looking straight up at you with a button on his head and when you push down on it, his arms join together to form a heart above his tummy which lights up bright red when you flip on the switch located on his back. This is definitely my favourite of all the Oh toys because he is just so darn adorable. Although the light won’t last forever, the heart and his love will last a lifetime.

Dancing Oh

Dancing Oh Mcdonalds ToyThis is a purple Oh with his arms in the air like he just does not care! He does not have any buttons, just two little wheels on the bottom of his feet. He is a pull and go toy so you pull him backwards and when you release him, he will start rolling in circles while moving his arms up and down, partying and waving his arms in the air like he just does not care! He will have no trouble moving around, but I had trouble with the arms, which just remained still. It appears this seems to be a common problem. Nevertheless, this is definitely the most fun Oh of the bunch and looks very cute.

Silly Oh

Silly Oh Mcdonalds ToyThis is an orange Oh who also has his arms in the air like he just does not care with a winky face and his tongue sticking out. His hands are bend down flat so that you can place him upside down as if he is going a handstand. He is a wind-up toy with his winder on his back. When you wind him up, his arms start moving up and down. I tried to wind him up and place him upside down, but he didn’t want to move ☹ I don’t know if he is meant to move while he’s upside down and mine just happens to not work or if he’s not meant to move while he’s upside down. If you place him on his legs rather than his hands, he is a bit unstable and may topple over so I recommend displaying him upside down. Either way, he’s silly, fun, and looks great.
