Animator's Collection Boo

Animator’s Collection Boo Doll

I was so sad to have missed out on the Disney Store Talking Boo Doll when Monsters Inc was first released as it was a beautifully made doll that looked exactly like Boo and even spoke her little gibber gabbers and giggles from the movie. Unfortunately the Talking Boo Doll is now quite a rare toy to get your hands on without spending an arm and a leg 🙁

Luckily for all of us Monsters Inc fans, the Animator’s Collection has brought this classic beloved Pixar character to life <3 While I generally do not share the same love and fondness for the Animator’s Collection young renditions as some other people do, I absolutely adore the dolls of characters who were children in their respective movies, such as Boo in Monsters Inc. This Boo doll is so beautifully done and so incredibly accurate to the movie that it truly feels like Boo was brought to life (apart from the fact that she does not talk).

Animator's Collection Boo Doll Face

Boo’s facial features are exactly as they are in the movie and she has the most adorable smile. Boo’s eyes are looking to the right, which I think is great because with a doll as accurate as this one, I think it would be a little too creepy to have her looking straight into your eyes. Boo’s hair is beautifully done in little pigtails and she even has two beaded hairbands around each pigtail just as she did in the movie. If you’re like me and are going to keep your doll in the box, do be careful when picking your doll as some of the dolls’ bangs may have some gaps in her bangs.

Boo’s outfit is just as it was in the movie and just like everything else, it is absolutely adorable. The only inaccuracy on this entire doll is that Boo’s pajama top is a little on the short side, but this does not take anything away from the doll at all. The most adorable part of Boo’s outfit is definitely her little socks on her feet. Boo even has an adorable stitched version of her teddy bear in her left hand.

Last, but definitely not least, is the packaging. All the Animator’s Collection dolls are packaged in the same white box with little sketches of the character around the box. The packing is absolutely adorable and definitely worthy of display. On the back of the box, there is some artwork of boo holding her teddy and Sully holding Boo in the air. It also has a little spiel about how the Animator’s Collection is a celebration of Disney’s heritage classic Disney and Pixar Animation characters. A nice little touch is the Genuine Original Authentic Disney Store stamp on the back of the packaging on the bottom left corner by Mickey Mouse.

Whether you’re a fan of the young renditions of Disney Princesses or not, these dolls are beautifully made and are absolutely adorable whether they’re for your young one or for display in your toy collection. The number of characters in this collection is always growing and you can always find a wall of them in your local Disney Store. They are reasonably priced at $26.95 US considering the level of detail. You can pick and choose your favourite characters or choose the most film accurate dolls such as Boo, Lilo, and a young Else, Ana, and Kristoff. No matter what your preference, I highly reccomend picking up one of these oh so adorable dolls <3
