Tetris Jenga

Jenga is the classic wood block-stacking game loved by everyone, including young children, adults, and even teenagers at parties (no alcohol involved of course). Leslie Scott stated in an interview that she has sold over 50 million Jenga games, and it is the world’s second biggest selling game next to Monopoly! Through it’s growth we seen different variants such as my recent purchase, Tetris Jenga.

Tetris Jenga is a twist on the original Jenga game incorporating another classic game. TETRIS Jenga consists of 47 TETRIS Jengatetrisjenga blocks, which means the blocks are tetrominoes (fun fact: this means four segment geometric figures), not just simple, straight blocks. There are 5 different building pieces in this game: L-Piece, Z-Shape,  T-Piece, Line Piece (which is the same size and length as the original Jenga piece), and a short two-block piece which is one block shy of being as long as the normal, original Jenga block which is 3 blocks. All the blocks are hollow, brightly coloured plastic piece, which make for a very bright and fun tower.

The gameplay of this variant is absolutely amazing and loads of fun. When the tower is built and you go to try and pick out a block, sometimes you can’t tell which shape the block is and whether it is trapped underneath or above an unsafe bit of the tower. Even when you can figure out the shape of the block, you have to be that much more strategic when picking out your block to make sure you’re not the one to make it topple over. I would definitely say it is more difficult than then original game and therefore, that extra bit more fun! This variant is relatively easy to find and is very reasonably priced so I recommend you grab one and give it a go!
