The Lion King Paper Heart Frame

The Lion King Paper Heart Frame

I cannot express in words my love for The Lion King. It is my absolute favourite Disney movie and I have watched it so many times that I could recite the entire movie word for word. I’m not the most artistic person in the world but I wanted to create an easy-to-make piece of Lion King artwork for my toy room. I stumbled across a lot of really cute paper heart frames on Pinterest and decided to make one of my own! It’s easy to make and it combines my love for both Lion King and books!

Materials

✧ Frame of your choice (I purchased a standard white frame from Ikea)

✧ Heart craft puncher

✧ Old Disney books or artwork of your choice

✧ Glue dots

✧ Piece of white card

Putting together this Paper Heart Frame is very simple. The first step is punching out all the images and words you want to include in your frame. I used old Lion King books that I purchased at car boot sales that I had lying around. This can be a little tedious, especially if you don’t have a clear idea of what you want to include in your frame. You can pick things at random that just look pretty or you can try and tell a story. I wanted to tell the story of the movie using key moments and words.

Here is a closer look at what I came up with….

Once you’re happy with your selection, all you need is to arrange the hearts into a pretty arrangement and glue them down. I used a glue dot on each heart to glue it down to the white card. I found the easiest way to make sure everything was centred and aligned properly was to put the hearts on the card when it was in the frame without the glass. This way I knew exactly how each heart would sit in the frame. Then once you’re finished, just put the glass back into the frame and voila, you’re done!

This is a very easy piece of artwork to create and it looks absolutely great on a bookshelf or amongst collectibles. You can also personalise your frame to your heart’s content using all sorts of different themes and different sized frames. These frames would be an excellent DIY present when you’re on a budget. They can be personalised for anyone about anything. You just need a little creativity!
