Monogram Alice in Wonderland Knob 3D Blind Bag Figural Keychain

The Doorknob in Alice in Wonderland is a standout loveable character and is the witty entrance at the end of the rabbit hole into Wonderland. Monogram International Inc highlighted the uniqueness and quirkiness of the character in this very cute 3D figural keyring.

The Alice in Wonderland 3D Figural Keyring Series

Monogram International Inc released numerous series of Disney figural keyrings, each being very unique and well designed. These were widely available in various retailers such as Hot Topic, Amazon, Disney Store, etc and cost about $8.00 (Canadian). Hot Topic even put these figures on sale at one point for $4.55 (USD)! I wish they created these as standalone figures rather than keyrings as they are wonderful and quirky display pieces for Disney collectors. The Alice in Wonderland series is particularly quirky and there isn’t a single character in this series I would not be happy to have in my collection.

The Alice in Wonderland Figural Keyrings come in blind bags and each bling bag contains one figural keyring. If you are purchasing the blind bag, it will be a little tricky to feel out which figure is inside the foil bag as each figure is wrapped in a piece of white cardstock. If you are looking for the Knob in particular, this will be one of the easier figures to feel out given the figure is very flat compared to the rest of the figures in the series. There are 11 characters in total to collect. The characters included in this series are:

  • Queen of Hearts
  • King of Hearts
  • White Rabbit
  • Mad Hatter
  • Caterpillar
  • March Hare
  • Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum
  • Dinah
  • Knob
  • Exclusive A (Golden Alice)
  • Exclusive B (Translucent Cheshire Cat

The Knob Keyring

This Knob figural keyring is just under 2½ inches tall and 1½ inches wide. The thickness is only about 0.5cm. It is a very flat figural keychain compared to the other characters in this series except for his knob nose and mouth. The material feels like a vinyl material, but it is more rubbery than Funko Mystery Minis and Funko Pops. As such, be careful because the figure can get dirty very easily if you handle it too much. Overall, the design of this figural keychain is simple, but it is very well done and very movie accurate.

The Face

There is a crown moulding style design on his “head” very similar to the design we see in the movie. The expression on his face is quite a perplexed expression with his single raised black line “eyebrows” running across his face raised higher on the left side representing a raised eyebrow. Underneath are two little raised brown eyes with white pupils in the middle.

His very round and bulbous nose is the largest feature on this keychain and protrudes out about 1½cm from his otherwise flat face. The mouth underneath also protrudes out, but not nearly as much as his nose. The keyhole is open ever so slightly to show that no one will be passing through without a key. The keyhole feature is incredibly detailed considering the size and price of the keychain. There is a raised line to represent his “lips” on either side of the keyhole and there is even a tiny, rounded awning over the black keyhole. Finally, there are even two little raised screws on the bottom corners with a line running through the raised bumps just like the screws we see on the knob in the movie.

Overall, this figural keychain is very well designed and can be used for more than just a keychain. You could easily remove the keychain off the figure and display the figure anywhere you like. You will need to lean the figure against something sturdy as it will not be able to stand on its own. Given how flat the figure is, you could even stick the figure directly on to a wall, shelf, desk, or any flat surface. As you can see, I displayed mine on top of my Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland book.

Geekkie Opinion

These figures were released in 2016 so if you are looking to get your hands on any of the keychains in this series, it will be a little difficult. Most retailers will no longer have these keyrings in stock. Luckily, there are plenty floating around on eBay for a reasonable price (around $10-$15 depending on the seller). In my opinion, I do not think you should be spending any more than $15 on these figures. They are very well designed and look great, but they are keychains at the end of the day and $15 is already quite pricey for a keychain.

Whether you wish to use your figural keyring as a keyring, display piece, art piece, or play toy, the figures are incredibly well made, and they look adorable. The Knob in particular, is very cute and would make for a great display piece or even used in an art project to stick on an Alice in Wonderland themed mural, wall, or shelf. It is certainly worth the purchase if you can find it for a reasonable cost.
