Disney Store Hamm the Piggy Bank

Hamm the Piggy Bank

Disney Store Hamm Bank BoxHamm, aka evil Dr. Porkchop, is definitely the realist amongst Andy’s toy and a little underrated in my opinion. Hamm is voiced by John Ratzenberger and it is a voice that is hard to forget because you hear his voice in every Pixar film. His voice is the epitome of Pixar for me. There has not been very many Hamm toys in comparison to the other characters and again, I think this is because he is a little underrated. This may also be because he is not actually a toy; he’s a piggy bank. This may be the reason why he was not included in the Toy Story Collection/Signature Collection, but I think it would have been nice to see a Toy Story Collection version of him.

The most film-accurate Hamm I could find is the official Disney Pixar Hamm Bank that comes in the white Pixar box. He is a Disney Store exclusive and can still be found in most Disney stores. He looks great, he is film-accurate, and he is exactly what he is supposed to be, a piggy bank. Since he is meant to store coins, he is made of resin and has a smooth matt finish.

Hamm Bank Bottom Cork ImageHe also has a real cork in his tummy and leaves plenty of room for all your coins to fall out if you use him as a piggy bank.

Although it would have been nice to have a Toy Story Collection Hamm that talks and moves, I think for an authentic Toy Story Collection, it makes sense to keep Hamm as a genuine piggy bank because that is exactly what he was in the movie. Although the Hamm Bank may not be the best toy, particularly for young children, as he could break if he is dropped, he is definitely a must have for any Toy Story fan and comes at a reasonable price.
