6. Mr. Spell

Mr. Spell is a computer like spelling toy based on the Speak and Spell toy by Texas Instruments. Mr. Spell was responsible for putting on the Plastic Corrosion Awareness Meeting, which was mentioned in the first Toy Story and he helped Buzz unscramble Al’s license plate in Toy Story 2. Because Mr. Spell played a relatively minor role in the movies and is based on an existing toy, Disney never manufactured this toy. Luckily for the die-hard Toy Story fans, a youtuber (EmmainCandyland) and friends commissioned a prop maker to create a movie-accurate version of Mr. Spell. Although you cannot purchase a finished Mr. Spell, you can go to the prop maker’s website at www.blindsquirrelprops.com and purchase the kit to make this toy by following the instructions provided on the website. The kit can be purchased for $150 and comes with resin casting and screen inserts. You can have the option of paper screen inserts or lit screen inserts, which I think is a really nice touch! I know I will be purchasing one of these in the foreseeable future. If you’re not that crafty or do not want to spend $150 on the kit, you can choose to have the Texas Instruments Speak and Spell toy, which Mr. Spell is based on, which I think is a legitimate addition to any Toy Story collection. There are plenty of  yellow and red versions available on eBay from approximately $30.00-$60.00.
