A Goofy Movie Happy Meal Toys

A Goofy Movie is definitely one of Disney’s underrated movies. It was released back in 1995 and was Goofy’s first full-length feature about his road trip with his son, Max, who was your typical teenager who had no interest in spending his summer vacation with his dad, and only wanted to impress high school crush, Roxanne. I’m sure most 80s and 90s kids will remember this fun-filled adventure about the ‘Powerline’ concert, spotting Big Foot, and learning the perfect cast. For those of you who have not seen this movie, I highly recommend it.

On one of my toy hunts I was lucky enough to come across the entire set of the 1996 Mcdonald’s Goofy Movie Happy Meal toys. This set consists of 4 toys: Goofy, Max, Roxanne, and Big Foot. It may be a small set, but it is a definite must have for any Disney lover or nostalgic 80s or 90s kid.

Goofy

Goofy Toy

This Goofy toy is a Goofy that is all dressed up in his fishing gear while he’s showing off his perfect cast. He’s got his yellow fishing hat on and a fishing rod in his hand, which is the red bit of plastic in his hand that has plenty of detailing etched into it to know that it is a fishing rod. It is a Happy Meal toy so it wouldn’t be fair to expect a whole lot of intricacy. Both of Goofy’s feet are twisted upwards while he’s doing the perfect cast, but the base is flat enough that he shouldn’t have any trouble standing up on his own. He isn’t very poseable, but you can twist his upper body all the way around.

Max

Max Toy

Of course, Max is all geared up and ready to impress Roxanne in his yellow Powerline outfit. He also has a pair of stylish blue shades, which are attached to his hands. His arms do move up and down so Max can put on his shades in preparation for his performance and his upper body can also twist all the way around as well. Because of the positioning of his feet, they are attached to a nice black base so that he will have absolutely no trouble standing at all.

Roxanne

Roxanne

Of course Roxanne had to be included in this set because Goofy and Max’s adventure would never even have happened if Max didn’t try to impress his high school sweetheart in the first place. She’s wearing the same outfit she was wearing in the movie and is standing firmly on a white base. The detailing of her shirt is actually very well done because her shirt was not even this detailed in the movie. My only issue with this toy is that her hair is not quite right. Roxanne’s hair is more brown than it should be and is half tied up, even though in the movie Roxanne’s hair had more of an orange tinge to it and was always worn down. The issue of her hair is a miniscule issue, especially considering that it is a happy meal toy.

Big Foot

Big Foot

Even though Big Foot’s role in the movie was not a major role, it was definitely memorable. Spotting the legendary Big Foot gave us some laughs and led to the classic ‘Hi Dad’ soup moment. This Big Foot has his headphones on and is listening to Powerline’s latest beat. You can make Big Foot bust out a move, as each of his arms do move up and down and his whole upper body can twist all the way around. What’s interesting about this toy is that if you have a stamp inkpad or some paint, you can dip Big Foot’s feet in and make little footprints. This may not be all that exciting for a collector, but I do think it is a very nice touch for any little ones.

Big Foot Stamp

I think this is a great Happy Meal set and the only shame is that it’s an older set, so there are only four toys. I think it would have been amazing to see a panicked looking PJ toy and Robert Zimmeruski toy with a leaning tower of Cheese-a. I think these toys are a great addition to any Disney collections and would take many 80s and 90s kids down memory lane. You should be able to find these toys at a very low cost on Ebay, at a charity shop, or even at a garage sale/car boot sale. If you manage to stumble across these toys, a few bucks are definitely worth a nostalgic trip
