Evil Queen Disney Classic Collection Doll

Evil Queen Classic Collection Doll

The Evil Queen in Snow White is Disney’s first villain in a fully animated feature. As much as we all dream about becoming a Disney princess, a Disney story would be nothing without its villain. When we think of Snow White, the first thing we think of is the alluring red poisonous apple. Without the jealousy and hatred of the Evil Queen, the there would be no poisonous apple.

Recently a lot of Disney villain toys have been released and I am absolutely loving it. I don’t think a Disney collection is complete without its villains. I’m not much of a doll collector, but I spotted this Disney Classic Collection Evil Queen doll in Toys R Us and I thought it was absolutely stunning, especially for an affordable doll. Normally you wouldn’t be able to get a movie accurate doll without it costing an arm and a leg to purchase a fancy schmancy good quality limited edition doll. While this doll may not be the limited edition Mattell Evil Queen doll, this doll is an absolutely stunning display piece for anything looking for Disney dolls or Snow White collectibles.

The three features that make this doll so stunning are the face, the apple, and the packaging.

Evil Queen Disney Classic Collection Doll

It’s not very often you get a doll whose face actually resembles the character in the movie. Dolls tend to always have a pretty face, but the face very rarely looks like the actual character they’re meant to represent. This doll is definitely an exception. This Evil Queen’s face is absolutely stunning and looks very much like the Evil Queen we see in the movie. The Evil Queen’s eyebrows are fierce, fantastic, and look like she just had them shaped. Her eyeshadow is a nice lavender just as it was in the movie and even has a little shimmer and shine to it. The Evil Queen has nice rosy cheeks and lovely red lips that have a hint of shine to them. Overall, her makeup is just flawless.

Evil Queen Red AppleI also think the red apple in the Evil Queen’s hand is fantastic. The apple has a chrome finish to it and I’m so glad the makers at Mattell decided to go with the chrome finish because it really makes the apple pop in the box. When you look at the box head on, the shiny apple is the first thing that catches your eye.

What really brings thing doll together is the packaging. The Evil Queen doll is packaged in a deep purple coloured box with floral detailing all around. In the bottom right hand corner there is an enlarged image of the Evil Queen from the movie and a really nice touch is the little grey raven centred at the top of the box. The cardboard inserts in the box are what really make the packaging. There is a cardboard insert of a red curtain with the raven on the left hand side of the Evil Queen and there is also a cardboard insert of gold feathered portion of the Evil Queen’s throne. While they are only cardboard insets, it creates a bit of a scene in the box which is great for display rather than just having a doll in an empty box.

My only complaint about this doll is the Evil Queen’s clothing. The Evil Queen is wearing the purple gown we see in the movie and she has a black cape. She also has a belt around her waist which looks like rope, but it is made of plastic. She also has golden coloured shoes which are removable. While there is nothing wrong with the outfit, I feel like it could have been made with a little more detail and flare. The outfit looks like it is of a cheaper quality, but it is also a normal priced doll so it is a little unfair to expect very high quality material and detail.

For a reasonably priced collection doll, I think this doll is absolutely fantastic. It would make for a great display piece in any toy collection. I do reccomend keeping the doll in the box if you plan to display the doll as the doll does not come with a stand and will not stand on her own unless you lean her against the wall. It would also be a shame to remove her from her packaging as she does look great in the box. If you’re looking for even more evil in your collection, the villains included in this Disney Classic Collection are Ursula and Maleficent. The dolls can be purchased as a Princess-Villain set or individually.
