Disney figural keyring scar series 4

Scar Vinyl Keyring

I am a huge fan of The Disney Figural Keyring bling bags by Monogram International because the designs of all the characters are absolutely fantastic. The designs are true to the characters in the movie, but also have this unique cartoon feel as well, which make them absolutely adorable. These blind bags are readily available in the US and Canada in stores such as Hot Topic, the Disney Store website, Claires, local comic book stores, etc, but finding them in the UK is a little trickier. Luckily I managed to find them in a couple of Forbidden Planet stores in both Birmingham and London.

I was so excited when I found some of these blind bags and I had so much trouble deciding which ones to get because there were so many series to choose from as I was late in starting my collection. I figured Series 4 was a very safe choice because the range of characters in this series is absolutely amazing and there is just no going wrong no matter which character comes out of the bag.

Disney Figural Keyrings Series 4Series 4 Set

Series 4 includes: Buzz Lightyear, Scar, Mad Hatter, Baymax, Oogie Boogie, Chip, Crush, Mowgli, Lumiere, and two exclusive chaser figures, Exclusive A and Exclusive B.

I was incredibly lucky because the first figure I managed to find from this series was the Baymax chaser figure (see review here: http://bit.ly/2dyfoBO). I was even luckier because the one figure that I really wanted from this Series was Scar and I managed to find him in my second bag. The Lion King is my absolute favourite Disney movie and Scar in my opinion is the most evil Disney villain to date, so there was no way I could not have this figure in my collection.

Like all the vinyl figures made Monogram International, the quality of this figure is absolutely fantastic. The paint job is perfect and I absolutely love Scar’s frowny face. This Scar figure looks a little too adorable to be one of Disney’s most evil villains but I wouldn’t have it any other war. Scar’s eyes are all dark between his actual eyes and his eyebrows, just as they are in the movie. He of course also has a scar on his right eye that is very clear and noticeable. He has a long frowny snout and a small body, which is what makes him so darn adorable. There isn’t a whole lot of texturing on his mane, but there is some at the top of his head.

While this is a figural keyring, I do wish these were stand alone figures as they are so well made. The metal keyring can be removed from the top if you would like to display your figures rather than use them as keyrings. Unfortunately Scar will not stand on his own, but if you place a little bit of sticky tack on the bottom of his feet and place him on a flat surface, you could display him on your desk or a bookshelf quite easily.

Whether you want to use your Disney figural keyrings as keyrings, toys, or figures for display, the figures are incredibly well made, they look absolutely adorable, and are definitely worth the purchase. If you’re looking for this particular figure, feeling out the bag will be a challenge as there is a large piece of card around the figure, but Scar will have point where the keyring attaches, and he is the only figure in his collection that will have a relatively large flat base. Happy hunting!
